Title: CONCEPT REVIEW - ROOF REPLACEMENT AT THE LUTHER BURBANK GARDENS - 204 SANTA ROSA AVE BACKGROUND: The project involves replacing the existing asphalt shingle roof material on the Main House and the Carriage House at Luther Burbank Home and Gardens. The proposal is to use a similar asphalt shingle material. Additionally, select gutters and downspout will be repaired and replaced where necessary. On the Main House, a section of existing roofing connecting the porch roof will not be replaced to restore the break between the main house as evident during the historical period. All work to both structures will proceed according to recommendations of the City’s Historic Architectural consultants, Treanor and Associates. The request for the Cultural Heritage Board to provide comments and direction for a concept review item is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) because there is no possibility that the action will have any effect on the environment (CEQA Guidelines Sections 15061(b)(3) and 15378).
