On October 30, 2024, the Community Advisory Board (CAB) approved a grant of $2,500 for The Wellness & Cultural Arts Workshop proposed by BIPOC Collective. The project aimed at hosting a two-day workshop offering free, inclusive social-emotional engagement and wellness activities for the Santa Rosa community.

Due to unforeseen challenges with contractor availability, BIPOC Collective requested a six-month extension, which was approved by CAB in November 2025. The extension period concluded in May 2026. The grantee is now requesting an additional extension through June 2026 to align project completion with the Sonoma County Juneteenth celebration, scheduled for June 13, 2026, at Martin Luther King Jr. Park.

RECOMMENDATION: The Communications and Intergovernmental Relations Department recommends that the Community Advisory Board, by motion, determine whether to approve the additional extension for The Wellness & Cultural Arts Workshop grant application from BIPOC Collective.
