Title: VEHICLE MILES TRAVELED BACKGROUND: Staff will present an informational item on Vehicle Miles Traveled Miles (VMT) which will become a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirement on July 1, 2020. As of December 2018, Office of Planning (OPR) completed an update to the CEQA Guidelines to implement the requirements of SB 743. The Guidelines state that VMT must be the metric used to determine significant transportation impacts.
