BACKGROUND: Staff is seeking approval of an Amendment to Grant Agreement for Homeless Outreach Services Team (HOST) Program with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa (Amendment), in the amount of $20,000, bringing the total amount under the agreement to $486,450 for Fiscal Year 2017/2018. The purpose of the additional funding is to reimburse Catholic Charities for expenses incurred to continue operation of the shelter at the Finley Community Center for a one-week period and to assess shelter clients and develop a shelter and/or or housing placement plan.

BACKGROUND: The recent devastating wildfires destroyed over 3,000 homes and 25 commercial buildings within the Santa Rosa City Limits. Prior to the widespread destruction, the City was highly focused on expanding its available housing stock. With the loss of homes due to the fires, it is critical that the City create additional capacity to ensure production of housing citywide while at the same time expeditiously facilitating the rebuilding of destroyed homes and businesses. The Planning and Economic Development department posted an RFP to perform post-fire recovery and rebuilding assistance on November 8th, 2017. A review board analyzed all proposals and interviewed the top candidates on November 15 and 16 2017.
