RESPONSE TO INDEPENDENT POLICE AUDITOR’S  
RECOMMENDATIONS  
The Santa Rosa Police Department will provide a response to the  
Independent Police Auditor’s recommendations from the 2023 annual  
report and outline the steps the police department has taken to address  
the recommendations.  
John Cregan, Police Chief, and Dan Marincik, Captain, presented  
and answered questions from the Subcommittee.

REAL TIME CRIME CENTER

Chief John Cregan will outline the vision for the Real Time Crime  
Center and provide a holistic overview of the Real Time Crime Center.  
The overview will discuss the technology used, funding, policies,  
oversight, and the timeline for the Real Time Crime Center being fully  
operational.  
John Cregan, Police Chief, and Josh Ludtke, Lieutenant, presented  
and answered questions from the Subcommittee.  
Public Comment:  
Lauren Mendelsohn spoke on behalf of the Sonoma County Chapter  
of the ACLU of Northern California in opposition to a Real Time  
Crime Center.  
Keith Rhinehart spoke thanking Santa Rosa police and expressed  
concerns regarding the use of drones.  
Danielle Nelson, general manager for Santa Rosa Plaza, spoke in  
support of a Real Time Crime Center.  
Susan Carrell on behalf Robin of Center For Justice spoke in  
opposition to a Real Time Crime Center.  
Omar Figueroa spoke in opposition to a Real Time Crime Center.  
Melissa Stewart spoke in support of a Real Time Crime Center.  
Susan Lamont, District 2, spoke in opposition to a Real Time Crime  
Center.  
Jennifer LaPorta spoke in opposition to a Real Time Crime Center.
