9. STAFF UPDATES
Ana Horta (Community Engagement Manager), and Misti Wood
(CIRO Officer), provided information and answered Member
questions regarding the following events and updates:
On July 23, a film is being shot in downtown Santa Rosa.
Communications and Intergovernmental Relations has diligently
done public outreach to inform residents of the filming due to the
nature of scenes that depict ICE interactions. The City of Santa
Rosa encourages and welcomes film productions done with the
proper permitting and noticing.
The Transportation and Public Works Department is asking our
community to help shape the future of Santa Rosa's trail network
by participating in the Greenway Connectivity Study In-Person
Workshop on July 29, 635 1st Street, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Come
and learn about project alternatives, ask questions, and provide
input. Free snacks and childcare will be available.
Also on July 29, the Planning Division is hosting a Virtual Community
Meeting to obtain community feedback on the Draft Alternative for
the South Santa Rosa Specific Plan. The meeting will be held via
Zoom from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. For details about the meeting and

On August 5, the Santa Rosa Police Department is hosting National
Night Out from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. at Dick’s Sporting Goods
parking lot. This fun family-friendly event will feature booths from
local organizations and public safety agencies, food and drinks,
and fun activities for kids. National Night Out is an annual
community-building campaign that promotes police-community
partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
From August 14 through October 31, the City of Santa Rosa, in
partnership with the local business community, will host the Ross
Street Activation on the eastern side of Ross Street. This vibrant
activation will feature art installations, live music, lunchtime food
trucks, and family-friendly activities designed to bring people
together and enhance the downtown experience.
