of removing approximately 300 cubic yards of sediment that has settled
around the Delta Diffuser, the City’s outfall from Delta Pond. The Delta
Diffuser consists of eleven 24-inch duck bill valves submerged in Santa
Rosa Creek. Two turbidity containment curtains will be installed around
the dredging area. The dredged material will be decanted in a
designated soil handling area prior to being hauled off-site to an
approved location.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by the Transportation and
Public Works and Water Departments that the Board of Public Utilities,
by motion, award Construction Contract No. C02200 in the amount of
$514,728 to Dixon Marine Services of Inverness, CA for Delta Pond
Diffuser Maintenance, approve a 15% contingency, and authorize a
total contract amount of $591,937.
