Title: MOTION - COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT GRANTS DETERMINATION - MESA LLENA BACKGROUND: The Community Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and approves the 2026 Community Improvement Grant Applications. The Board shall award grants to the applicants whose projects best meet the criteria. There are three grants that have been submitted and meet the criteria for the Aug-Sept 2026 period: The Northend California Center for Well-Being is requesting $2,500 to support the 2026 Mesa Llena Project. Mesa Llena is a community-centered food access project designed to ensure that Santa Rosa residents, particularly immigrant and mixed-status families experiencing fear related to the current immigration climate, can continue accessing the food they need. Community Health Workers (CHWs) observed that many families had stopped attending traditional food distribution sites and were hesitant to apply for or use public food assistance programs that require the sharing of personal information.
