PUBLIC HEARING - RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING A GRANT APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION SECTION 5310 FUNDS FOR PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT ADA PARATRANSIT AND SENIOR COMMUNITY VEHICLES
BACKGROUND: Santa Rosa CityBus seeks to apply for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 funds to purchase ADA and senior community vehicles. The application requires a board resolution authorizing application along with a public hearing that verifies that there are no other non-profit agencies readily available to provide similar paratransit services to eligible individuals in our service area.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by the Transportation and Public Works Department that the Council: 1) hold a public hearing to receive public comment and to determine whether any private non-profit is readily available to provide paratransit services within the City; and, 2) by resolution, authorize the City Manager or his designee to execute and file a grant application with the Califor...
