PUBLIC HEARING - FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (FTA) SECTION 5310 GRANT APPLICATION FOR PARATRANSIT EQUIPMENT
BACKGROUND: The Federal Section 5310 program is a statewide, competitive grant process that is administered through the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The program provides funds to local non-profits and public agencies for the purchase of accessible vehicles, scheduling software and equipment such as security cameras and AVL system components. However, funding is made available to public agencies, such as Santa Rosa CityBus, as long as no other local, non-profit organizations are readily available to provide paratransit service within the CityBus service area, as required by the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
