PUBLIC HEARING - REZONE THE PARCEL LOCATED AT 408 CALISTOGA ROAD FROM RR-40 TO R-1-6 TO BE CONSISTENT WITH THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE DESIGNATION FOR THE SITE.
BACKGROUND: On November 18, 2014, the City Council held a public hearing and approved Calistoga Cottages, with a vote of 5-2, a four lot subdivision consisting of a Mitigated Negative Declaration, General Plan Amendment from Very Low to Low Density Residential, rezoning from RR-40 (Rural Residential) to R-1-6 (Single Family Residential), and a Tentative Parcel Map to subdivide the 0.99-acre site into four individual residential lots.
On December 2, 2014, the second reading of the rezoning ordinance failed with a vote of 3-3 and one Council member absent. The Council directed staff to reschedule the rezoning ordinance for consideration and action at a future meeting. The rezoning is necessary to implement the Low Density Residential land use designation.
