MOTION - COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT GRANTS DETERMINATION-WESTGATE COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The Westgate Community and Secret Garden are requesting $2,500 to support neighborhood outreach and build interest in a community garden. Funding will be used to print flyers, host community BBQs, create a logo, develop a garden plan, and launch social media for ongoing engagement. Their long-term goal is to establish a secure community garden with individual plots, surrounded by California native plants for all to enjoy. Any surplus produce will be donated to local food banks, supporting food security in our community.

RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by the Communications and Intergovernmental Relations Department that the Community Advisory Board, by motion, determine the dispersion of this Community Improvement Grant for the June-July 2026 period.
