PUBLIC HEARING - APPROVAL OF FEES FOR RECREATION & PARKS FACILITIES AND SERVICES (Note: This item will be continued to the regular adjourned (continued) meeting on June 17, 2015, at 9:00 a.m.)
BACKGROUND: The Recreation and Parks Department offers a wide variety of services for which fees are charged, including facility use, admissions and program fees. Council has previously adopted fees for Recreation and Parks facilities, admissions and services, and delegated authority to the Director to set the necessary fees for seasonal program activities, excursions, special events, and athletic league fees based on the City’s actual costs for the activities. Fees are periodically adjusted to reflect new or revised meeting spaces and equipment; a small number of adjustments are being proposed for FY15/16. New fees being proposed include two new activity rooms at Steele Lane Community Center and tiered rates for Park Special Use Permits, as well as a discount for multiple park dates. Existi...
