AB 1572 BAN ON IRRIGATING NONFUNCTIONAL TURF
Water Use Efficiency Staff will provide an update on program activities related to the state regulation banning irrigation of nonfunctional turf at specific accounts within the City’s service area beginning in 2027. Under the law, the City must update its municipal code to include the prohibitions and enforcement actions within the regulation and notify all impacted accounts no later than January 1, 2027. Staff will review compliance timelines, the draft ordinance, and outreach approach. The Subcommittee may discuss this item and give direction to staff.
