MOTION - COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT GRANTS DETERMINATION-THE EDUCATION REFUGE
The Education Refuge is requesting $2,000 to support The Education Refuge Project. This project addresses the educational resource gap faced by low-income refugee, immigrant, and asylum-seeking K-12 students in Santa Rosa by providing laptops, Wi-Fi hotspots, and school readiness materials to support learning outside of school hours. With $2,000 in funding, students will receive technology and supplies based on individual need, helping expand access to educational opportunities and reduce achievement gaps. As of 2026, Edurefuge partners with 10 refugee-serving organizations and has connected more than 200 vulnerable students nationwide to free tutoring and educational support services.
