Staff will provide an overview of the state regulation banning irrigation of nonfunctional turf at specific accounts within the City’s service area beginning in 2027. Under the law, the City must update its municipal code to include the prohibitions and enforcement actions within the regulation and notify all impacted accounts no later than January 1, 2027. Staff will review compliance timelines and approach as well as opportunities to adapt customer programs to achieve compliance.
