Due to the provisions of the Governor's Executive Orders N-25-20 and N-29-20 which suspend certain requirements of the Brown Act, and the order of the Health Officer of the County of Sonoma to shelter in place to minimize the spread of COVID-19, until further notice the City Council will be using Zoom Webinars to host City Council Meetings. Each member city has one Voting Delegate at the General Assembly, which will be held virtually on October 7-8, 2020. At that meeting, the General Assembly will consider a resolution calling for the amendment of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996, so as to require social media companies to remove materials which promote criminal activity. 20-0792 1*14.2Ratification of Local Emergency Proclamation Shady/GlassCC- ReportREPORT - RESOLUTION - RATIFICATION OF PROCLAMATION OF LOCAL EMERGENCY BACKGROUND: On September 27, 2020, the Acting Director of Emergency Services issued a Proclamation of Existence of a Local Emergency relating to existence or threatened existence of conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property within the City due to the Shady Fire, now a part of the Glass Fire Incident, which entered into the city limits of the City of Santa Rosa destroying numerous homes, threatening hundreds of additional homes and businesses, and requiring the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents and visitors.
